Developing artistic skills.

Writing Mandarin Chinese requires certain fine motor skills, observational skills, and spatial proportion management. As a student learns Chinese calligraphy, also develops concentration, patience, stroke control and pressure. If they also practice with brush and ink, they develop a sense of aesthetics and composition.
